Oana & Florin

I am sure you guys remember that exquisite engagement photo shoot we did together with Oana & Florin in Las Vegas. Well the time for their wedding came and I had the honor to document the event, which took place in Detroit metropolitan area. With tears and a lot of cheers, Oana & Flo said “Yes” surrounded by a ton of friends and family. Thank you guys for yet another awesome experience and for allowing me to get to know all those special people!

It was a pleasure to discover such a unique and strong Romanian community so far away from Romania and Europe. It was incredible that, even though, i was half way around the world i felt like home. The beautiful St. George Cathedral, in Southfield, MI is the center point of this proud community, keeping it together since the beginning of the 1900’s when the first Romanian immigrants came in the Detroit area to work in the newly developed auto industry.

The downtown Detroit area was surprising to say the very least! It´s an intriguing mix with a lot of strong social contrasts and definitely a great place for a photo session. I just hope that it will soon see better days and that it will be restored to showcase all its glory.
