Cristina & Florin

EN:
Even though I didn’t had the honor to photograph their wedding, Cristina and Florin wanted a photo session with me. So, after I got back from Prague, with a short stop in Bucharest, I took the road to Athens.

The initial target was Santorini, but it seems that it was not meant to be, so we had to settle for Athens. To be 100% sincere, I had great expectations from the famous Greek capital, but to my surprise it was just another Bucharest – bigger, busier, dirtier. Now, I don’t know what was your impression about this city, but you know how it is… de gustibus non disputandum est. Or, as a photographer friend said, and I am convinced he is right, Athens has a lot of hidden treasures, but to get to them, you definitely need a local guide or a whole lot more time to discover them by yourself.

Just to get back to the session in Athens, I can say, with the same sincerity, that it was one of those moments I wished I had an assistant and more time to wait for the perfect light. Well… we wanted to get up for sunrise, but no greek rooster could get as out the bed at such an ungrateful hour. But that doesn’t mean that I wasn’t happy with the outcome, you guys already know that I love a good challenge.  :)

P.S.: With the same occasion, as I always do when photographing a new place, I got in touch with some local photographers to discuss things about the wedding photography industry. So I got to meet, by now my new friend, George Pahountis from wedshooter.gr. I was really surprised to see how many things have in common the wedding photography and the wedding photography industry in Romania. Therefore, with a bit of organizatory effort, there are big chances, that sometime in November, there will be a Romanian – Greek meeting and maybe even some common photo sessions. I’m sure that everybody will have something to learn from this experience.
