Dupa cum o parte din voi stiti, anul trecut am avut o tentativa de a pleca din tara spre taramurile Canadei. La momentul respectiv astrele nu s-au aliniat cum trebuie si, ca urmare, micul meu vis nu s-a putut concretiza. Totusi, gandul de a parasi Romania, macar pentru o perioada de timp, a ramas cu mine. Drept urmare m-am reorientat spre o locatie ceva mai apropiata si anume – Barcelona.
Dupa ce in primavara anului acesta am facut prima mea vizita in Spania si dupa ce am reusit sa imi schimb prejudecatile stupide pe care le aveam legate de aceasta tara, a inceput sa creasca in mine ideea de a ma muta acolo.
Fara a avea un motiv tangibil, inca de la inceput am fost atras de Barcelona. Nu as putea spune exact de ce. Sa fi fost poate multiculturalismul de acolo sau poate plaja, poate locatii fotografice disponibile la tot pasul, poate de operele lui Gaudi, poate de libertatea de gandire a multora de acolo si de faptul ca, mai presus de orice, este incurajata creativitatea. Cred ca putin din toate. In concluzie, am decis ca, de indata ce imi voi termina munca aici pentru acest sezon, Rares Pulbere Photography isi va schimba locatia de baza din Brasov, Romania, in Barcelona, Spania. Acest lucru se va intampla cel mai probabil in ianurie sau februarie 2011.
Ce inseamna asta? Inseamna multe lucruri, dar probabil cel mai important pentru voi, cei care citesc textul acesta, este ca incepand din 2011 ma veti gasi in special in Spania si doar rareori prin tara. Cu siguranta nu inseamna ca nu voi mai face nunti in tara. Voi continua sa fac nunti in Romania, atata timp cat voi avea cereri care vor putea acoperi modestele mele cerintele. Pretul, in prima instanta, nu se va modifica foarte mult, ci vor exista doar mici ajustari in vederea alinierii la piata spaniola. Spre exemplu: daca pentru o nunta in Bucuresti, pretul transportului ar fi fost undeva sub 50 de euro si o durata de aproximativ 3 ore pentru ajunge acolo, pretul transportului din Barcelona pana in Bucuresti va urma a fi undeva sub 100 de euro si o durata de vreo 4 ore – diferenta este zic eu nesemnificativa.
Bun… dar sa lasam cifrele si chestiile concrete si sa incerc sa mai raspund la cateva intrebari care deja mi-au fost adresate si care mai mult ca sigur vor aparea din nou. Au existat persoane care m-au intrebat de ce plec tocmai acum cand Rares Pulbere Photography a inceput sa insemne ceva in fotografia de nunta din Romania. Raspunsul e simplu: pentru ca vreau mai mult, simt ca pot mai mult, mult mai mult si simt ca daca raman aici dezvoltarea mea nu va fi aceeasi ca in alte parti. Sunt sigur ca orice roman stie la ce ma refer aici, fara a intra in detalii. Mutarea in Barcelona va fi o adevarata provocare si chiar daca stiu ca nu va fi usor, mai ales la inceput, stiu ca voi reusi – pentru ca vreau, pot si de data asta nu-mi vor mai sta in cale cateva acte stupide!
O alta intrebare la care am raspuns de cateva zeci de ori este daca ai pe cineva acolo care sa te ajute? Nu, nu am. In scurta mea experienta de viata, am invatat sa imi ascult si instinctele, iar in momentul de fata instinctul meu ma indruma catre acolo – doar timpul va hotari daca a fost sau nu o decizie buna.
Acestea fiind zise, va astept incepand din 2011 pe plaja in Barcelona, dupa al doilea bar pe dreapta, langa stufaris, dar aproape de mare pentru a simti briza, cu o “cervesa fria” si cu o vorba buna.
Si ca sa revenim cu picioarele pe pamant, saptamana viitoare voi veni cu inca o veste buna (zic eu), cu fotografii de la sesiunile foto din Praga, Atena si Madrid precum si cu imagini de la nuntile din tara, care s-au tot strans!

As some of you may know, last year I tried to move my base location to Toronto, Canada, but, at that time, the stars were not properly aligned and my little dream did not come true. Still my thoughts about leaving Romania, at least for a period of time, remained. Therefore, I set my sights on a closer location, which is – Barcelona.
After my first trip in Spain, this spring, and after I successfully changed my misconceptions about this country, the idea of moving there started growing in me. Without having a certain reason, from the beginning Barcelona made a big impression with me. I don’t know exactly why. Maybe because of the multiculturalism, maybe because of the beaches, maybe because of beautiful locations that are spread all around the city, maybe because of Gaudi’s work, maybe maybe because of the opened minded people which form the majority there, maybe because of the creativity, that is being encouraged at every single step, maybe a bit of everything. Who knows… I certainly don’t! Bottom line, I’ve decided that as soon as I’ll finish my work here for this season, Rares Pulbere Photography will change its base location from Brasov, Romania to Barcelona, Spain. This will most probably happen in January or February 2011.
What does this mean? Well… it means a lot of things, but probably the most important one for you, the readers of this text, is that begging with 2011 – you’ll find me mostly in Spain and only seldom in Romania. One thing is for sure – it does not mean that I will no longer book weddings in Romania. I’ll continue doing that as long as my modest requirements will be fulfilled. In the begging the price will not be modified to much, just some small adjustments to align myself to the Spanish market. For example: for a wedding in Bucharest this year, the price of the transport would be somewhere around 50 Euros and a travel time of about 3 hours, next year the price for the transport from Barcelona to Bucharest will probably be somewhere under 100 Euros and a travel time of around 4 hours – so the differences are, in my opinion, insignificant.
Anyway let’s forget about the prices and all the material stuff and allow me to try to answer some of the questions I was already asked and which, almost definitely, will be asked again. Some have already inquired me why do I leave now, when Rares Pulbere Photography has started being a name in the wedding photography industry in Romania. The answer is simple: because I want more, I feel that I can do better, so much better and I feel that by staying here my personal development will not be the same as in other places. I’m sure that every Romanian will get my drift, without getting into the gory details. Moving to Barcelona will certainly be a challenge and I am sure it will not be easy, especially at the begging, but I know that I will succeed because I want to, I can and this time there will be no stupid paperwork to stand in front of my dreams.
An other question that I’ve already answered to a bunch of people is: Do you have anyone that will help you there. No, I don’t. In my short life experience, I’ve learned to trust my guts and at this moment my instincts are dragging me in that direction – only time will tell if that was or wasn’t a good decision.
That being said – starting 2011 I’ll be waiting for you on a beach in Barcelona, after the second bar on the right, next to the reeds but still close to the sea to feel the breeze, holding a “cervesa fria” and willing to share some good thoughts!
So just to get back with the feet on the ground, next week I’ll be announcing some other good news and also I’ll be posting some pictures from my photo sessions in Prague, Athens and Madrid and images from the weddings I had in Romania in the meantime.

Como unos de vosotros ya lo saben , el año pasado he intentado irme del pais, para Canada. Parece que en ese momento las estrellas no se habian aliniado como deberian asi que mi pequeño sueño no se pudo concretizar. Aun asi, la intencion de dejar el pais, solo si fuera por una temporada, se ha quedado conmigo. Entonces, he dirigido mi atencion en una ubicacion mas cercana – Barcelona.
Despues de haber visitado España por primera vez esta primavera y despues de haber conseguido cambiar los prejuicios estupidos que tenia sobre este pais, el idea de mudarme ahi ha empezado a crecer.Sin tener un motivo tangible, he sido atraido por Bracelona desde el principio, no se exactamente porque, a lo mejor por el multiculturalismo que se encuentra ahi, por la playa, por el incontable numero de objectivos que estan por toda la ciudad, por las operas de Gaudi, por la libertad de pensamiento que he encontrado en muchos ahi, porque la creatividad siempre consigue el apoyo necesario, a lo mejor un poco de todo. Quien sabe…yo seguramente no! En resumen, he decidido que, nada mas termine el trabajo por la temporada, Rares Pulbere Photography cambiara su ubicacion de Brasov, Rumania a Barcelona, España. Lo mas probable es que esto pase en enero o febrero del 2011.
Que significa esto? Significa muchas cosas, pero probablemente lo mas importante para vosotros, los que leeis este texto, sera que empezando con el 2011 me encontrareis principalmente en España y solo a veces en el pais. Esto seguramente no significa que no hare bodas en el pais. Voy a seguir haciendo bodas en Rumania hasta que voy a tener demandas que podran cubrir mis humildes requisitos. El precio, en principio, no cambiara mucho, haciendo a lo mejor solo unos pequenos ajustes para poder encajar con el mercado de España. El precio del transporte va a seguir siendo bajo, para explicarme : si para una boda en Bucarest el coste del trasporte seria bajo de los 50 euros y duraria mas o menos 3 horas en llegar, el coste del transporte desde Barcelona a Bucarest seria bajo los 100 euros y duraria 4 horas- diria que la diferencia es insignificante.
Vale..dejemos los numeros y el concreto para poder responder a unas de las preguntas que me han sido puestas y que seguramente volveran a aparecer. Algunos ya me han preguntado- porque me voy justamente ahora, ya que Rares Pulbere Photography ha empezado a ser reconocido en lo que significa fotos de boda en Rumania. La respuesta es simple….porque quiero mas…se que puedo mas, mucho mas y se que, si me quedo aqui, mi ascencion no sera la misma que en otras partes. Estoy seguro que cualquier rumano sabe de lo que estoy hablando sin entrar en detalles. Mudandome a Barcelona sera un gran desafio y aunque no sera facil, por lo menos al principio, se que lo conseguire, porque quiero, puedo y esta vez no hay nada en mi camino, nada como unos documentos estupidos!
Otra pregunta que he contestado unas cuantas veces es : Tienes a alguien que te ayudara ahi? No, no tengo. En mi breve experiencia de vida he aprendido que tengo que seguir mis instinctos y ahora mi instincto me guia hacia ahi y solo el tiempo dira si ha sido una decision buena.
Sabiendo todo esto, les espero empezando con 2011 en la playa de Barcelona, detras del segundo bar a la derecha pero cerca del mar, para sentir la brisa, con una “ cerveza fria “ y buena charla. Para dejar de sonar y volver con los pies en la tierra, la semana que viene tendre otra buena noticia (lo digo yo). Traere las fotos de las sesiones de Praga, de Atenas y de Madrid, ademas de imagenes de las bodas autoctonas que se han juntado.
